Prospector Gets a Makeover: Faster, Smarter, and Clearer

After months of development and testing, we're launching a new version of BizMachine Prospector — the tool that helps sales and marketing teams discover new opportunities, prioritize activities, and better understand their market every day.

We built the new Prospector based on user feedback. The goal was clear: make it faster, simpler, and more intuitive.

What's new in Prospector?

Fresh design

Prospector got a complete redesign. The modern, clean interface is more intuitive and naturally guides you through each step. Better visual hierarchy helps you find what you need quickly, without getting lost in menus. The new design makes it easy for new users to get started while offering the depth that power users need.

Brand-new dashboard — overview and navigation hub

The new dashboard greets you right after login with the most common Prospector use cases and shows your saved segments and latest updates. You won't waste time getting oriented — you'll immediately know what to do next, whether you're looking for new companies, managing your portfolio, or tracking signals.

Best practice segment templates — faster path to results

Setting up filters from scratch can be time-consuming, especially if you're new to Prospector. That's why we've added templates based on proven sales scenarios. With just a few clicks, you can create a segment following a recommended approach and customize it to your needs. You'll save time and get inspired to use data more effectively.

Company mini profiles — key information at a glance

Previously, you had to open each company's detail page to determine if it was worth pursuing. New mini profiles bring essential details (size, industry, key contacts, and indicators) directly into the company list. You don't even need to leave the list to get the key information. Quickly assess which companies are worth reaching out to without clicking into each one. The full company profile is still there — it's up to you how deep you want to go.

Smart signals — prioritization without the guesswork

Sales reps often struggle with who to focus on first. The new signal view highlights companies where something is happening — expansion, investment, hiring, leadership changes, and much more. You can set up tracking for new companies in a segment or monitor specific signals and get notified about every change. This gives you clear cues on who deserves your attention, so you don't waste time on less promising contacts.
